Priverion – a founder-owned SwissTech company offering data privacy and information security products & services – is looking for an IT Security Consultant (Microsoft 365) to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure to implement and oversee security measures in Office 365 and Azure cloud environments. Your mission will be to ensure the integrity and protection of clients’ cloud systems, identifying security gaps and compliance issues, and providing strategic guidance to strengthen their security posture. This position is based in Zurich with a flexible hybrid work model. Fluency in German and English is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tenant Security Audits: Conduct thorough Microsoft 365 tenant audits to identify security gaps, compliance issues, and areas for improvement. Address all aspects of the tenant (identity and access controls, endpoint management, compliance settings, etc.) and deliver comprehensive reports with recommendations.
  • Security Solutions Implementation: Design and implement Microsoft 365 security solutions to protect clients’ cloud environments. This includes deploying and configuring tools like Microsoft Defender (Office 365, Cloud Apps, Endpoints), Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) with Conditional Access & MFA, Data Loss Prevention policies, and other Microsoft 365 security & compliance features.
  • Consulting & Advisory: Provide expert consulting on Microsoft 365 cloud projects and migrations, ensuring security best practices are integrated from planning through deployment. Advise clients on improving their security posture over time, prioritizing recommendations and strategies to close gaps and align with Microsoft best practices.
  • Client Collaboration: Collaborate closely with clients and cross-functional teams to assess security risks in Microsoft 365 deployments and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure that security and compliance requirements are understood and implemented in all Microsoft 365 projects and configurations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Develop and present technical documentation, audit findings, and security assessment reports to stakeholders. Translate complex security concepts into clear, actionable recommendations and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Incident Support: In case of security incidents related to Microsoft 365, assist in incident response and remediation efforts. Analyze incident root causes, coordinate response actions, and implement corrective measures to prevent future occurrences. (Note: this role is primarily proactive consulting, but your expertise may be called upon to help handle critical security issues when needed.)

Your Profile – Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience consulting on or administering Microsoft 365 and related Microsoft technologies. Proven track record in implementing Microsoft 365 solutions for security and compliance.
  • Microsoft 365 Security Expertise: Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365’s security and compliance features and administration. You’re proficient with tools such as Microsoft Defender (threat protection for Office 365, Cloud Apps, endpoints), Microsoft Purview (Compliance & Information Protection), Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) including Conditional Access policies and MFA, and Data Loss Prevention configurations.
  • Identity & Access Management: Strong experience with Azure AD/Entra ID and identity management in cloud environments. You understand authentication protocols, have implemented Multi-Factor Authentication, set up Conditional Access policies, and managed user and admin roles in Microsoft 365.
  • Endpoint & Cloud Management: Familiarity with managing devices and endpoints via Microsoft Intune and ensuring secure device access. Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments (integrating on-premises Active Directory with Azure AD, etc.) and general Windows infrastructure (AD, GPO, DNS) is highly valued.
  • Security Monitoring & Automation: Experience with security monitoring and SIEM tools – especially Microsoft Sentinel – to analyze logs and alerts for Microsoft 365 environments. Ability to automate tasks using PowerShell scripting for Microsoft 365 administration and reporting.

Education & Certification:

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field is a plus. Continuously learning and ideally certified (or pursuing certification) as a Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate or a similar Microsoft security certification is highly desirable.

Languages:

Fluent in German and English (written and spoken). You can confidently communicate and write documentation in both languages to serve our client base (predominantly in Switzerland).

Soft Skills:

Customer-oriented mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills – you can explain technical security measures in simple terms and build trust with clients. You are a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical abilities and a keen eye for detail when it comes to identifying security issues.

Motivation & Adaptability:

Passion for cybersecurity and cloud technology, with a self-driven, agile mindset. You learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment, and you enjoy taking on new challenges to broaden your horizons. As a true #ProblemSolver and #Doer, you take initiative and deliver results independently as well as part of a team.
